Variant Partners is an executive search firm moving into its second generation leadership. Executive search is interesting and intense. The company is well run and cares about the employees. Comp has no ceiling since it's pay for what you produce. This is a great place to work for people who are self motivated.

The compensation plan is heavily weighted on incentives so there's a downside. This is not a great place for people who don't want to take initiative. The training is a foundation but the actual initiative has to come from the employee.
