Communication is sometimes a problem, though not more than most places. Upward mobility/promotion is entirely random and circumstantial -- you might get lucky, or you might be gone.

WIRED is definitely a fast-paced but rewarding place to work. It has plenty of great resources at their disposal. They also consist of a dedicated team that is always pushing forward to ensure the success of the group.

Depending upon the department, certain personal and professional growth structures aren't put in place for advancement. It isn't an ideal platform and sometimes going at 100 mph with a focus on constant innovation can feel work/dedication is overlooked. It really depends on the environment or specific focus but I reasoned this to be a fairly universal theme across the board.
