It's a job, at least, in this bad economy. But it is only a job. It could be so much more and could be a wonderful company to work for.
Minpunten
Wal-Mart considers you part-time even when you work close to 40 hours per week, thus keeping you from being eligible for benefits. Working hard gets you no reward. Hard workers with seniority are bypassed to give new workers positions off the front line of being a cashier. Wal-Mart has turned their express lanes into unlimited item checkouts, however there is insufficient space to handle the products in both ringing up and bagging. Management is out of touch with the line staff. In the summer, the checkout area is uncomfortably hot and no one will address this issue. Broken registers are never repaired...what is the point of having checkout lanes that cannot be used? The discount card is of very little benefit. Lower management is afraid to make any type of decisions and the staff works in fear of getting in trouble for trying to address problem areas. It is ridiculous that corporate greed has resulted in stores not being able to close for Thanksgiving...a time to spend with family. Sam Walton would be appalled.
