Pluspunten
- Incredible entry-level opportunities for technologists that come from a variety of different demographics. - Good competitive salaries - Great exposure to the corporate world for people not typically from those backgrounds - The company attracts a LOT of incredible people who are dedicated towards helping underserved demographics and they stay true to the mission no matter their experience at the company
Minpunten
- Toxic leadership starting with the CEO and filtering it's way down. - The "Yes" people are promoted, and the people who try to change the way things are, are belittled and either forced to quit from terrible behaviour OR are let go after their jobs become "redundant" - The values of "Fierce" and "Transparent" are in theory, great. In practice, they counteract one another as "Fierce" becomes just another way to be an jerk in meetings and say counterproductive things in an unapologetic fashion. It doesn't create the space for people to be heard, and therefore to be Transparent. You never want to run the risk of disagreeing or you become a target for the next few weeks. - The solution to inappropriate behaviour is to "move roles" so that people are less exposed to the bullying types than to deal with the problem itself- and forget HR, they aren't on the side of the employees- I didn't even get an exit interview. - Management meetings would turn into a brutal session to highlight specific management failures with the CEO screaming at you in the process, some of these sessions would result in managers taking stress leave and EVERY one of these sessions would turn into "check-ins" post-meeting to make sure the person in the crosshairs was OK- this is NOT normal corporate behaviour but a lot of people don't realize this because it is their first corporate venture
