Minpunten
Talented people come and go from this company at an alarming rate. They work hard on their culture, but there are annoying, corporate style initiatives to change the vocabulary and constantly improve processes. They put way too much energy into these, and in my experience going with the program matters more than hard work. Working more than 40hrs a week was expected, but talking about it was frowned upon. My manager said “just don’t tell me…” I would not recommend joining this company hoping to move up from the inside. This is not a place to go to find mentorship. Everyone is too busy. There are some 'difficult personality types' entrenched in this company at the higher levels. The office politics are fears, and you can’t expect people to be real with you. They are also stingy with pay increases. They justify this with their bonus program, which is pretty decent, but they pay it out at the end of March of the following year. They tend to ‘thin the herd’ at the beginning of the year, so that they don’t actually need to give you the compensation they’ve been promising for the past 12 months. Don’t let them convince you to accept less because of the bonus. Finally, the worst thing about this company, they make you participate in a compulsory week-long group therapy session every year or so. You will be expected to divulge your various traumas to your coworkers. If you don’t ‘go deep enough’ they will single you out until you do. They say it makes a stronger company, but that shouldn’t matter. It’s wildly inappropriate.
