Great colleagues - until they resign or simply vanish...

Minpunten

The firm in a state of turmoil. From January until May over 50 staff have left and there are countless others unhappy and looking. Since the buyout by DXC it is almost like the management don't care any longer. There is no effort to try to retain any of those leaving or address the common issues that 90% of the leavers have. During recruitment the promises made about 'fast-track' training, on-boarding and development would be excellent, if only any of it was truthful. Quite simply the promised 'fast-track' training was cut back from external courses with professional trainers to an in-house course in order to save money. Course materials & support are non-existent and the Microsoft accreditation is now something you're expected to do yourself in your own time with no support or external resource to 'fast-track' you to succeed. There was no shadowing of experienced consultants for new starters in order to learn the 'ebecs' methodology. You're put straight into a fee earning role and left to sink or swim with pure luck as to whether you get a supportive project team or left to fester and be sacked at the end of your probation period and ordered straight out the building and told not to contact colleagues! For those considering a role - some food for thought. **They will try and claim back recruitment fees from staff that leave within 12 months, so probation is ONE WAY. ** There are no proper pay reviews, even after being promised opportunities would be available at the end of the probation and also when you start billing ** The turnover of staff in staggering - we had 3 line managers within first 6 months and so management can only ever pay lip service only to concerns but nothing ever happens. ** Project Managers spend more time fighting for resources than proactively planning due to poor balance of resources, leading to badly managed projects and most projects are in firefighting mode with directors being wheeled in to placate one angry client after another. ** Staff are simply profit centres and ebecs have no issue with charging out graduates with a couple of years experience at a senior consultant rate, expect the work of a senior consultant but won't pay the graduate a consultant rate. Shocking. In summary, a word to sum up the company - Shambles.

Pluspunten

Management demonstrates their commitment to employees - training, support, flexibility. The company ethos and all employees are focused on delivering the best systems and services to the customer. We work hard to build long-term relationships with our customers and to make sure they are happy. This makes the work rewarding. Everyone at the company is helpful and willing to give their time to help each other - no feeling like you are stuck with nowhere to turn. A real feeling of comradery. Competitive salaries and great benefits.

Minpunten

Work/life balance can sometimes suffer when there are a lot of projects in progress at the same time but this is for a finite period of time to get through specific milestones - not forever like at some previous companies where I have worked.

Travel requirements can be high depending on the project.
