Pluspunten
• Access to some of the latest technology in the industry. The tools available for marketing, training, and communication are constantly improving, and it really helps agents stay competitive. • Strong broker and staff support. There are always state brokers and support staff available when questions come up, which gives a lot of confidence when navigating contracts and transactions. • Flexibility. You can work as much as you want and take time off when you need it. If you miss a meeting or training, everything is recorded so you can go back and learn on your own schedule. • Forward thinking leadership. The company is always looking ahead and building systems that prepare agents for where the industry is going. • A solid commission structure. The split and cap are very competitive, and getting paid right at closing keeps cash flow simple and predictable.
Minpunten
• Because the company is virtual, there is less day-to-day personal interaction with colleagues compared to a small local office. • It can sometimes be harder to reach someone late at night or on weekends, which was easier in a small, family-owned brokerage where someone was almost always available. • I don't love the big networking events and conferences, although I know many do. It feels like a big multi-level marketing company at some point, with the fireworks and beaches. I am from a small rural state, and I understand that many thrive on these kind of conferences. Bonus that it's not required, though! • There is no built-in system to hand off clients if you are sick or want to take a vacation, unless you create those partnerships yourself with other agents. • Startup costs can feel significant at first since agents are responsible for their own signs, marketing materials, and business setup. • If you need one-on-one or hand-holding, or if you're super team-oriented, this brokerage may not be the right one UNLESS you find a team that's already with EXP. This brokerage is for self-starters and independent agents with big ideas and follow-through.
