There is a noticeably unhealthy atmosphere within the engineering teams. Expectations are set very high, and when questioned, the explanation often refers to the company value of “Endless Ambition.”
From my first weeks, I heard many colleagues mention that they regularly worked beyond normal office hours, and similar pressure is placed on new joiners. It often feels like the priority is delivering faster rather than supporting a sustainable workload. At times, comments were made implying that developers should “work harder,” without any clear definition of what that means.
It’s important to be cautious about the questions you ask. If something seems “too simple,” it may reflect negatively on your performance. Even preferences such as IDE settings can be criticized, and this may lead to assumptions about your seniority.
During onboarding, there is little acknowledgement of the fact that new employees need time to get up to speed, and the expectation to immediately know everything can feel overwhelming.
The company also uses a concept called a “War Room” when projects do not meet deadlines. Engineers are required to stay in a meeting room for the full day to “increase communication” and deliver faster, and this practice is viewed internally as a point of pride.
Overall, the culture feels unhealthy, unsupportive, and dismissive of developer well-being.
