I currently work as a behavioral health professional. I have found that this is the job for me. Not without an array of experience with different age groups. I have an interest in this position for multiple reasons. First is practical, it’s much closer to my home. I appreciate the benefits offered, fortunately I don’t need any medical insurance. I absolutely cannot imagine not working with parents, families or superiors within the school. I have never been interested in teaching yet this is so unbelievably different from how I imagined an educational environment. I have the demeanor for it, I can maintain a calm energy plus tone of voice, I am empathetic, I have infinite patience yet I will not be taken advantage of. I have completed classes in ethics, motivational interviewing, suicide prevention, coping techniques for anxiety and trauma, I am also trauma informed with a certification as a mandated reporter. I have a very flexible schedule. I’m motivated and I love to learn… and I imagine that will be imperative. Technology is an area I could use improvement but I pick up most subjects quickly.
