On October 10th, 2024, Richard Wolf Medical Instruments Corporation was invited to Daring Day at local High School District 128, where members of the Wolf Pack engaged with Sophomores about career opportunities and future ambitions. At Libertyville High School, our Senior HR Generalist (Jennifer Miller, SHRM-CP) spoke to students about the importance of exploring various career paths including manufacturing apprenticeship programs, emphasizing how each career path can shape their futures. Meanwhile, at Vernon Hills High School, our Talent Acquisition Specialist (Cassondra Peña) and our Facilities Maintenance Technician (Brian Hart) shared their personal career experiences, highlighting the significance of career planning and the opportunities available to students who take proactive steps towards their goals. Each speaker encouraged students to pursue their passions and remain open to new possibilities as they navigate their professional journeys.
Every September Urology Awareness Month raises awareness of urology diseases including bladder, kidney, prostate and male reproductive cancers and non-malignant conditions including incontinence, urinary tract infections (UTIs), erectile dysfunction and kidney stones. In conjunction with Urology Awareness Month, Richard Wolf Medical Instruments’ Marketing Department hosted a product fair featuring company flagship products from not only the Urology discipline, but also from the Gynecology, General Surgery, and Imaging disciplines. Employees were able to see instruments in action by way of discipline specific trainers and presentations by the marketing team members. This event allows our employees to really see and understand the clinical applications of the instruments that they, in some cases, manufacturer and/or repair. Employees experience first-hand the life changing contributions they make every day. Along with didactic stations and presentations, the company provided lunches from our favorite food trucks. Sustainability is a key part of Richard Wolf’s corporate strategy and values. While we looked for ways to celebrate Earth Month with our employees, we decided the Solar Eclipse would be a great opportunity for a team building event! All employees were able to take an additional paid break to enjoy viewing the eclipse with appropriate glasses. To add to the fun, we provided Sun Chips and clementines (mini suns ☀️) for our monthly healthy snack. This Earth Day, with a heartfelt gesture towards environmental stewardship, we gifted the employees “plant a pine tree” kit. Why pine trees, you ask? Not only are they beautiful and iconic, but they also play a crucial role in combating climate change. Pine trees are known to be champions of carbon sequestration, absorbing CO2 from the atmosphere and locking it away in their wood and soil.
