RITEK makes a wide range of optical disc storage media such as CDs, DVDs, and minidiscs. The company also makes display components (glass substrates, organic light-emitting diodes), photonic components (filters, optical connectors, transceivers), and electronic storage products (flash memory, card readers, portable storage devices). Although the company serves clients on a worldwide basis China's appetite for recordable CDs -- topping 1 billion annually -- makes that country a major customer. RITEK was founded in 1988 and became the first optical disc manufacturer to simultaneously mass produce different recordable DVDs in 2002.
