The main challenge comes from supervisory management. The general consensus within a certain team is that supervisors appear to lack sufficient training and management experience, which continuously creates on-going problems in communication, decision-making and leadership. There are frequent examples of unprofessional behaviour in interactions with staff, including dismissive and patronising communication. This makes it difficult to raise any concerns or have constructive conversations about anything. There are also noticeable levels of favouritism in how responsibilities and opportunities are distributed, and mandatory 1-on-1 meetings are cancelled to provide time for only certain individuals to provide growth. Team members are not fairly or respectfully treated (under certain supervision, there are some great supervisors).

The job posting to which I applied was completely different than the job offer I got. Every single step in the interview process was marked by a detrimental change in my work conditions and an increase in their demands. What started as a permanent contract, ended as a temporary contract without possibility for renewal. What seemed a mere technical role, was turned into a managerial role. What seemed an informal position, turned to be a highly-regulated environment. The only thing they did not change was the salary, they offered a junior technician role and asked for a manager. They are basically lowballing and bait-switching candidates. Highly unethical.
