This company has several problems. Projects are initiated by middle management. The manager retreats and projects die, because nobody in the team has time. In the company, there are many projects that are in need of structured leadership. However, middle management is young and inexperienced and does not have the capabilities to deliver this. This results in many, many projects that have been bleeding dead for months.
It happens about once every week that people shout at each other, especially when the development department is involved.
The people who have started this company and who were really passionate and competent in hosting and IT in general were bought out by Broad Horizon. Ever since this event, the high quality of hosting has declined. The new upper management is mainly interested in acquiring other companies. This results in poor leadership. There are several people in key places who have the mindset: "if it's not made here, it is bogus" and who are really inflexible when it comes to selecting the right technology for the job. This has two negative implications: 1) many solutions are built internally, whereas there are products on the market that provide a more elegant solution, 2) If you make a mistake, be prepared to get flamed or laughed at in the company chat or during meetings. Combined with the earlier described chaotic implementation of projects, this company is in severe need of competent leadership, especially in middle management, streamlining of internal projects, flexibility, implementing a positive work ethic and a clear direction.
