Pluspunten
I was hired as a true entry level engineer, which I feel like is almost unheard of nowadays. This specific type of work is not something you are taught in school, and the learning curve is pretty steep, but if you like to learn and embrace a challenge, this is perfect, It is very much a learn as you go type position without a very structured onboarding or training plan, but the owner/boss/PE Ariel, and Senior Engineer/PE Andrew, have both been amazing mentors and are always there to support you and answer any questions along the way. The company is also VERY small, which I wasn't sure if I would like at first. But after having worked here for the past three years, I can tell you that I would not have had the advancement I have had at a larger company. Within one year I was leading large field sampling events, working as a project manager on numerous projects, and constantly talking with clients and city and state agencies. I was able to gain so much knowledge into this field and develop skills much faster than I would have at a larger company. AMC becomes like a family and everyone there is so supportive. The only reason I have decided to leave the company is because I am relocating. If you are in the environmental field, AMC is the place to be!
Minpunten
This job does not have a ton of structure, and day to day tasks can vary, so if you are someone who likes to be doing the same thing every day this is probably not the place for you. Also, the office is very small, so if you prefer a larger company I would also advise to look elsewhere!
