You can learn quite a bit on the job. And you can cross train when things are slow. The people you work with are pretty decent for the most part. The parts are pretty dialed in and don't require much skill to operate. They provide tools for you to make measurements. Overall pretty decent environment as a machinist. Easy work for the most part.
Minpunten
Work is very inconsistent. Sometimes pushing, sometimes not. Lots of things changed when the company was under new management. You have people that have worked there for decades worried about their future at this company. They implemented policies that drive away talent. When things get slow they will enforce these policies hard. Management, although functional, is weak. The new management, hard to say if they're going in the right direction. They have has issues retaining general managers, office staff, and employees.
