Pluspunten

Breakfast is provided. Good summer/Christmas parties. Lovely offices and the location of the Bollington office by the canal is beautiful. A handful of very friendly and helpful individuals especially within admin related positions.

Minpunten

Note that this review is ONLY regarding PROVE - PCO is operated by a different team entirely. Plans are chopped and changed on a whim according to the mood of the MD, who is a shady and intimidating character who belittles his Senior Management Team. The level of pressure put onto staff at all levels is unhealthy and the company culture is toxic - staff are reprimanded for staying late to get work finished but then the pressure to meet deadlines completely contradicts any opportunity for normal working hours. Majority of the higher levels of staff are made up of graduates who have joined straight from university and been promoted rapidly through the ranks - possibly with no idea that this is not a normal or nice working environment/culture. Having speedily promoted staff up through the ranks, some seem to be a little 'power mad' and not friendly towards new members of the team who were still learning their roles. Outside of these "chosen few" (as a previous review termed it), turnover is very high. There is almost a cult-like attitude that you must be seen to be living and breathing your relatively low paying work, but also enjoying it to the maximum.

Pluspunten

Relatively open communication channels with directors. Lateral structure that allows for connecting with the whole team.

Minpunten

Management decisions from an Omnicom and Adelphi Group level have stripped the company of anything once found positive. The team was assured of no layoffs during a merge, and then the first group to successfully merge were laid off. Deferred compensation was not awarded and we were not told ahead of time. 5 days of PTO were taken back. Promotions and annual raises delayed by months, often with no back pay. The team is spread incredibly thin, having lost around a third of the staff over the last two years with no approval to hire. This leads to no time to drive internal initiatives towards personal development. The US team now uses researchers and managers from the UK office, which leads to resourcing and communication challenges. The company culture that made it worth staying through low pay by industry standards hasn’t been able to withstand this. The office lease hasn’t been renewed and the team is worn down across the board. I don’t know if I see AV PCO US standing in 3 years unless something drastic happens. The Adelphi Group seems to be struggling financially, but communication from group-level management is either non-existent, opaque, or seemingly false. Compensation across the board has tanked due to decisions from group and Omnicom: 401k match is almost nonexistent, 5 days of PTO have been rolled back, PTO maximum cap has been reduced, deferred compensation not awarded, annual raises (3% at the max) delayed or not given.
