Pluspunten
In a few short years Alexa has transformed as a product. And the way the team delivers new and improved value to that product is smarter, faster, and more efficient than ever.
For a company whose early years were rooted in the dot com bubble, it's amazing how it has transformed itself and adapted to the changing digital landscape so recently, in such a condensed amount of time.
Alexa is a company that is working at entrepreneurial, start-up speeds, with the legacy of a seasoned analytics pioneer, and the support of one of the top e-commerce and cloud computing companies in the world (Amazon).
It's the best of everything - a small, dynamic team that's delivering new things constantly. But a stable operation, and flexible work environment with great benefits.
Also, it's a flatter hierarchy which means more responsibility and involvement in decision making for non-senior employees.
Minpunten
Small team often means strained resources. The team continues to deliver fast, but sometimes concessions have to be made.
It's a mature team and most have families, so there isn't a lot of post-work socialization. You won't find the 20-early 30's party start-up culture here.
Since it's a small, mature team with employees who have been there for years (and a flatter hierarchy) there's not a lot of movement internally. Those that look for quick movement up through the ranks probably won't be happy.
