Pluspunten
Each person is assigned a career advisor who serves as a career coach and provides tips on how to navigate the business. Lots of opportunities for certifications and the company recently achieved fair gender pay. Benefits are some of the best I've experienced when it comes to PTO and an extended benefits fund for personal enrichment.
Minpunten
At first I thought this would be a company I would see myself at for a decent amount of time. Maybe even work myself up into a management or other higher-up type role. I was impressed by the drive for diversity and inclusion in addition to "doing the right thing." The recent layoffs have drastically made me reconsider this. Several long time veterans who devoted themselves to the company where suddenly laid off with short notice. They essentially did everything right, but yet Avanade fell through on their end. It made me realize all the efforts to make the company look socially better are just a facade. Instead I have reframed my goals into seeking an "out" because Avanade has made it clear that loyalty is only a one way street, and even then you aren't safe. I struggle to have any faith in the company looking out for me despite all the contrary massaging and push for ethics. Where are the ethical discussions when it comes to laying off those with 10+ years with the company, only to be faced with an uphill battle with ageism when attempting to start anew in this economy?
