Pluspunten

A flexible work place. A friendly atmosphere. You become attached to your co-workers because they are warm and inviting. The company activities are engaging and help to foster a "family-like" feeling. You tend to want to stay because of that.

Minpunten

To be able to be promoted within your scope of responsibility is extremely limited. There is a lot of movement as employees have worked in a certain area for a long time and feel the pinch of being salary pinched in their position or the lack of growth opportunity sitting in a certain position. There is limited growth potential or moving up within the company. Employees who have been with the company for some time have probably been in the same position all that time. There is that cloud that hangs over your head as you max out on your salary within your "grade" or "band" or employment.

I am glad that you see Avendra as a friendly, flexible work environment. It seems that many of our associates agree with you and do stay in their role for a long time. We recognize this issue and strive to create career advancement possibilities that are uncommon at a company of our size. We suspect you may be overlooking opportunities that may be available to you and encourage you to speak with your manager or with HR. Even with our limited size, we do strive to promote from within. We have had 11 promotions so far this year and in 2014 we had 25 promotions! Last year we added a new “Promotion in Role” process for the majority of our non-manager positions, which enables an associate to be promoted within their current role – thus recognizing them for their growth within their current job. When associates stay in their role for a long time this sometimes causes their salary to creep up in the salary range. Avendra uses a broad salary range for each position that reflects the duties, education and experience requirements as well as location of the job. These salary ranges are evaluated every year to ensure that they are in line with the market. Even when an associate has reached the top of their salary range, we continue to reward our associates with a merit bonus in lieu of a merit increase – therefore continuing to reward our associates for their hard work. - Coworkers are pretty friendly and try to support each other despite the environment - Some departments/managers are more flexible than others, allowing for reasonable work-life balance — though this is not consistent company-wide

Minpunten

Like many of the recent reviews, I share the sentiment that Aramark’s acquisition and influence over Avendra have significantly eroded what was once a strong and respectable company. I firmly advise against working for an organization plagued by toxic management who lack morality and transparency, Merit increases are negligible, with a standard 2% raise that fails to keep pace with inflation, let alone the rising cost of living. Advancement and recognition are often based on favoritism and internal politics rather than performance, creating a disheartening and inequitable work environment.
