Because the headquarters are in London, it sometimes feels that there's a disconnect between the London and North American cultures. Perhaps, because my time there was so brief (due to the elimination of the entire corporate affairs function in Chicago), I didn't get the chance to engage in a way that would have helped me feel connected culturally. Then again, the layoff decision would seem to support the disconnect referenced above.
