Pluspunten
Tim and Arthur Barrett do an amazing job setting the tone for the company, and there are dozens if not hundreds of employees that have impressively lengthy tenures at the company, something that's difficult to accomplish in such a high-turnover culture.
From the company profit sharing, to transparency with clients with the financials, emphasis on LEAN and cost-savings, and top notch facilities always willing to grow and lean into the latest warehousing technologies, Barrett still carries a family-owned feel despite its size and dozens of facilities across the US.
While some companies say it but stigmatize it, Barrett truly has an open-door policy - I know that at any time I can reach out directly to Tim and Arthur Barrett just as I would by direct report and receive respectful and helpful responses.
They clearly care more about doing the right thing for clients and their own than the bottom line and it shows not just through their words but played out with their actions, which has been empowering and encouraging as an employee.
Minpunten
There is a push from leadership to expand existing business, but not yet a pay structure that incentivizes additional sales. While it's supposedly been discussed, adding some sort of variable comp for Account Managers would be a very welcomed addition and make the pay for the roles more competitive.
There is also a lack of upward mobility within Account Management today as far as role and title, with all SAMs reporting to a VP without any Senior or Director roles to be obtained. Having a Senior role would also be welcomed.
