- This is a huge risk adverse company. There is a lot of "that's not within my scope." Not that people don't want to help. We are all so siloed that even something that should be simple takes an inordinate about of time to get resolved. It's frustrating to have to contact multiple people to get one approval or one answer.
- Managers (at least lower level) have too many reports to be effective. Most people are working remotely, at least part of the time, so everything is Teams calls or messaging. It's hard to have any feeling of being a part of something. Again because of the silo and no cross-training.
- Because of the number of reports, training is lacking and getting answers takes too much time.
- Because everyone is siloed you don't know where to go outside your immediate area.
- When Baxter bought Hill-Rom, we went from unlimited PTO to 4 weeks combined sick time and vacation.
