Understandably, working at a retail based company has some of the same challenges. However, the real issue here is the management and senior leadership. They promote gossip, favoritism and yes people. They are unprofessional in every sense of the word and are not interested in managing their employees. Even though, I worked there years ago, the management has not changed nor has the problem employees moved on to other opportunities. Instead, they were promoted and assumingly continue to cause problems in the department. Unfortunately, the years worked there were a wash, I didn’t learn anything worth noting on a resume. No skills, no growth opportunities or challenging projects, the job itself was not difficult and in fact very tactical at best. The only hope I have while writing this review, is that a newly graduated job seeker will think twice about working here. Merchandising may sound glamorous, however, at this particular company it isn’t. Keep looking for a position that is a good fit, promotes growth and will challenge you daily. These things are not a priority at BSG, and from the lack of change, proves they never will be.
