Pluspunten
-There are lots of ongoing projects (could be good or bad). -Everyone at executing level is amiable and intelligent -Lots of potential for career development, due to above. -Base pay is market rate, not below. Bonus could be (potentially/in theory) decent. -Bar and pool table. -There are cases of global mobility (between Asia/Europe/NA). -Health insurance is absolutely incredible. -Despite the withering market share, balance sheet is ironclad from years of market dominance and job stability is guaranteed at most levels. -Also despite the withering market share, BitMEX still carries a strong brand name that can propel you to greater heights if you decide to leave. -The company is still rapidly expanding and continues to grow despite headwinds.
Minpunten
The CEO - not only is he floundering to keep the business afloat, he obscures the grim reality of company performance then blames it on "market conditions" without a modicum of accountability. He does not seem to understand, nor care for, what keeps employees happy. The only employees that he is keeping happy are his boys from Germany that he's brought over on hefty expat packages while those who have served their time and have proven themselves are not promoted (e.g. why wasn't the group finance controller, who is loved by his colleagues and has extensive years in Asian finance/crypto, made CFO? He'd worked at BitMEX for THREE years, previously at Jane Street, when the current CFO was brought over from Germany... followed by the COO, CCO...).
