The service writers want the techs to sell work to customers that is not in anyway essential to the function and or safety of their vehicles. If you are in board with pushing service that is not needed you receive no compensation for your efforts the service writers get commission the techs get nothing as they often get the same hourly rate weather they are twiddling their thumbs or slamming out vehicles. So essentially they want you to rob customers of their hard earned money put that money into the service writers pockets and be happy with the arrangement, I personally was not OK with robbing people and giving the money gained from doing someone dirty to someone who didn't work for it.
