Pluspunten
Only for Mandarin Speakers and employees who want to obey orders from inexperienced leaders in China
Minpunten
1. HR is non-existent. HR has to go with the China leader narratives or else they would either be managed out or forced to switch teams. My performance review done by a manager in SG who was not from China and was completely stuck off by leaders in China written in mandrin and passed to me and when asked for justification the HR setup a call with a person who was my peer in China to give me feeback. The feedback given by the person was on projects I raised, the person took up and could not complete on time and then blamed me. 2. We had 3 members in the team initially, all non mandrin speakers. Our team was merged with a team in China and since then 100% of the team meetings happened in madarin. There are entire teams who have been hired from Alipay china and they brought the culture with them. 3. The new team leader never met the team, only once in one year and did not speak a single word in the meeting and left. 1:1 is not a concept and the feedback directly comes in performance reviews. The feedback sounds made up to give you lower ratings so that you either quit or change teams (if you do not speak mandrin) 4. Most of the projects go to China members are they are closer to developers, can communicate in mandrin and have a tough time speaking to non mandrin stakeholders.
