Pluspunten

The benefits website they use is nice, but you can get that at literally any job. Paid lunch break

Minpunten

Toxic supervisors. They hardly pay them enough, and some sites don’t have designated “managers”, but rather they have “shift leads” who only make a dollar more because of their “managerial” status. Some of them are ok. Others have so much attitude and the one I had the misfortune of working with was passive aggressive to the max. Coworkers are also a headache to deal with. You’re spending 12 hours with them in the same area and sometimes they just act so rude to you. The pay is also horrendously low for a workload that’s so high and not to mention high pressure.

Pluspunten

Hands-on experience with EMR systems and patient documentation. Strong patient-facing experience with diverse cases and populations. Exposure to working with multiple providers and medical specialties. Fast-paced environment that builds adaptability and multitasking skills.

Minpunten

Pay may feel lower compared to the intensity and volume of work- but unfortunately is typical for premed/prehealth professionals.

Pluspunten

* Great exposure to the medical field if you are seeking to have a career. * Get to work with physicians, NPs, PAs, medical assistants, X-ray technicians, and PSRs. * Learn point-of-care testing, EKG, blood draw, and urine drug screening. *Networking opportunities. (Build relation with the providers and staff members) * Access to mentorship and a letter of recommendation from providers if there is a good understanding. *Can pick up shifts and do overtime.

Minpunten

* Bare minimum pay/starting salary is 19.50 and no raise * Fast-paced, heavy workload, extremely overworked (bring patients in, patient charting, point-of-care testing, x-ray orders, blood draws, EKGs, lab processing, referrals). * Management (practice manager, office supervisor) sucks, site manager/district manager does not care about employees. All they care about is patient volume. *If you work at a super site, you will be overworked and yet underpaid and underappreciated/valued by your manager/supervisor. *Extremely understaffed.
