I was an AE in the direct sales channel- selling both hardware and tracking service, CalAmp is relatively new to offering SAAS tracking services, Most of their business is from selling hardware only. The software they have is very weak and lacking in features that would be competitive. At the rate they are going to improve it, it's probably two years from being worth selling Marketing seems to be doing its own thing instead of trying to help sales find leads. Sales management has almost no telematics sales experience and has no real direction. There has been a mass exodus of sales managers and reps. The different departments within the company don't know how to work together, No one is coming close to hitting their sales quotas. It's a shame that a company that should have some real advantages because they manufacture the hardware, is so inept in transitioning to being a SAAS company.
