Urm, I always got paid on time... You do get to work from home, but it gives you no freedom and you feel chained to your own desk.
Minpunten
I really don't know where to start with this review. I worked at chess for 9 months and in that time I had 3 different line managers (all clueless) and the company staff turnover was unbelievable. The way chess treat customers was my first concern. The business has only grown because of multiplie acquisitions and the churn rate of customers is shocking! Winning new business is impossible due to their bad reputation. Their internal systems were clearly developed 15 + years ago and impossible to work with! They use no CRM so you have to manually do everything! The worst part for me was the crazy targets that are defined by your base salary. Meaning that the rest of the sales team know what you're being paid, which in certain circumstances can create big problems. In my time at chess, I never met a single colleague who enjoyed their job, and they still bang on about their 'culture', but it's more toxic that anything I've ever encountered. They don't provide you with what you need, so you're forced to split deals with other sales colleagues in order to obtain the necessary info. You get the miminal 20 days holiday and if you're sick you won't get paid. Even if that sick day was caused by catching Covid 19 at a trade show you attended for the company. I was also told that if I was to write this review then I could say goodbye to a reference.... If you are reading this review and considering accepting a job from chess theb please reconsider. If you check all the major reviews sites then you will get an understanding of the customers pain.. Don't be fooled by any of the positive reviews as most of them are fake!
