Pluspunten

- There have been a lot of great people who have come through the doors. Unfortunately, most have exited. - The snacks are pretty good. The ForFive coffee however is awful.

Minpunten

- Everyone trying to please the dear leader. Promotions based on whether you're serving your middle manager/liege lord and playing politics well vs actual merit. People constantly backstabbing each other. Incompetence and awful hiring decisions ruling the day and causing the downfall of a place that used to not suck. This is Convene. Here, you'll only get ahead if you play the game slick enough to stick around. Being good at your job doesn't get you far, especially if you point out that the emperor has no clothes. Keeping your head down and not pointing out very obvious flaws in the company is the best way to keep your job. - It's jarring to see a company where 75% of the staff in the tech and service teams are people of color but 90% of the executive team are white men. Very upstairs/downstairs mentality while lip service is given to diversity. As someone who appreciates women's events and pride events, it's absurd that these two groups are celebrated every year while black history month and hispanic heritage month are completely ignored. - Extremely poor planning and communication during the Corona virus. Even when it was obvious that this disease is very real as of Friday, March 6, leadership was telling people they were welcome to work from home while team leaders were telling employees to come in on Monday. Brilliant!

Hi - I appreciate that you took time to share thoughtful and specific feedback with us. It is through hearing feedback like yours that we can carry out our philosophy of being 1% better every day. Please allow me to share some thoughts on some of the specific items you mention. First, impact and inclusion initiatives are a top priority for our People & Culture team this year. Among other efforts, we are currently working to improve our hiring practices to be more inclusionary as well as to create programming that has meaningful and tangible effects not only for community groups but our entire organization. I hope our work can address some of the critiques you have of our efforts in the past. Second, we’ve invested a great deal into new and improved tools and resources to support our growth over the last year. We are committed to get better at assessing and rewarding performance and will continue to hire to a top-flight standard when we are able to hire again. Your feedback is invaluable to that effort. Lastly, regarding our global pandemic response, while it wasn’t easy, our team was laser focused on an iterative crisis management plan from very early on as information changed by the hour. I am proud how we acted with prudence, thoughtfulness, haste, and heart through it all. Our first priority, as always, was the interest of the safety and wellbeing of our employees and customers. They push you to utilize your pto. The “we’re family” hits a little different when you have a team that actually cares. Ryan Simonetti is by far the best CEO I have ever met. Treats all employees like equal, very respectful and humble!
