I initially worked cleaning on-demand patient bedrooms in the Butterworth, and transferred to do clinic and office cleaning in LHCP I did not do floor care. --- Immediate leadership in both were very compassion considering how many people they had to manage. They will hire anyone. The department had a diverse population of folks of different backgrounds, especially from other countries. However, I don't know what it looks like for people with felonies. I started in 2022. Drug testing involves a mouth swab test which only detects up to 4 - 48 hours. LGBTQ+ inclusion; They offered coed lockers to compensate. I didn't even need to ask. They used ones preferred name (on badge and on work phones) and pronouns (they ask for both in ithe initial application). Part-timers can opt-in for their health insurance Priority Health (which they own). Bus rides are free with work badge present. Cafeteria on-site Easy to transfer and change jobs within the company.

While not a con for me personally, there is a lot walking because it is a large campus Corewell, employees are expected to help guests and patients find where they need to go if they ask or appear lost. While you get tours relevant to the areas you will clean, they don't tell you where patients and guests commonly need to be. You learn over time with help and trial and error. You don't get a discount for food at the cafeteria. Coffee, and soda machines in the cafeteria (not the Starbucks cafes) are free to staff. While Part time jobs have access to health care benefits, they cost more a month than if you are fulltime. Not just because you make less, it is a different price. Bonuses rarely happen for most employees even nurses. There was a "Thank you" gift from the President of Corewell for $250 for all Corewell employees in 2023. At the time the President earned 4.5 Million a year.

Good variety of food choices for patient families and staff, staff that work side by side and on the floors are supportive.

Minpunten

Management does not care about any of their employees. They have no respect for anyone even the physician leadership. No planning or foresight when implementing staffing changes that are life changing for employees. Eliminating positions and flattening seniority forcing tenured employees to reapply to a same position from fixed day and night shifts to 6 weeks nights and 6 weeks days. No regard for anything else except the bottom line.
