After a change in management, the environment became isolating and discouraging. The lack of trust and support created constant stress and made the role feel unsustainable. Turnover appeared very high for such a small company. With around 26 employees and multiple C-suite positions, the structure felt top-heavy and disconnected from the actual team. There were ongoing concerns about stability, and it often felt like the focus was simply surviving rather than building something long-term. When I was laid off, I received no severance and no resources or support to help me transition or find new work. For a small company that often emphasized culture and care, this felt especially disappointing and honestly surprising.
