Toxic, depressing environment. Not a single leader in upper management which is made up of people who seem to be in their first ever leadership role and have no concept of how to work together, act maturely, or run a business. The company is a financial disaster and customers are leaving en masse.
CEO is self-centered, inconsistent, and moody. When he’s manic, he envisions himself as some kind of man-of-the-people guru / motivational speaker-type. When his mood shifts, he is impatient, easily angered, and goes off on people. He “leads” by emotion and lets whatever is going on in his personal life impact how he behaves on any given day.
A recurring theme in this office is beating people down by making them feel incapable, less than, and not valued. Upper management acts like an “in crowd” clique and when one of them singles you out and decides they don’t like you, you become a target. They chisel away at you through constant criticism of even the smallest tasks, making you feel like you can do nothing right, or they deplete you of any purpose by looping you out of projects you were once part of.
Absolute twilight zone. Run for the hills.
