Pluspunten
I have freelanced for over 40 NGOs and cannot believe the opportunities I have to use all of my skills plus create innovation, to result in opportunities to rescue even more girls. The response is immediate. A donor's commitment enables girls to be rescued, educated, have urgent medical treatment. I love taking people on the journey of a girl from rescue to recovery to education, and feeling with each rescue across the seven countries, I've played a tiny part. Communication is open, we confront issues head on, and we're not afraid to try new objectives. I really appreciate how we value the donor dollar, and reporting back to our donors about what they have helped to collectively achieve for the children. I have the freedom to work from home as the office is in Qld but I've learnt so much technology because Destiny Rescue readily adopts new platforms and tech to help us. Each team member is encouraged to contribute to change, identify problems and feed in solutions. I'm not part of a huge organisation - I can ring any team member at any time and get their feedback or share their ideas. If you want to create immediate change and lasting impact, this is the place to work.
Minpunten
I still haven't been able to visit the projects on the ground in our project nations but that's a first world problem. Working in different parts of Australia can be difficult for team members but that's what zoom and Microsoft Teams and Blink and the jolly phone were invented for!
