Pluspunten
The company strives towards excellence and wants to grow organically. Some decisions are made collaboratively and general idea is to have as many SME's as possible involved into the decision-making process. Company is located internationally and wants to open delivery centers around the world, which is great. Company culture promotes inclusion, openness, transparency and helping each other. Leadership promotes always making an informed decision based on some sort of available data (not by the gut feeling), feeling free to express his/hers opinion without fear of redemption and being personally accountable for any actions taken. Company promotes hybrid setup (office presence is not mandatory).
Minpunten
Company culture is being seriously impacted by politics that have been creeped in to daily comms. Instead of keeping interest of the company in the first place, individuals are saying the things that will keep them safe, even if it goes against company's best interest. Leadership promotes mutual decision-making but unfortunately what happens is that more and more individuals (who are not totaly informed about the specific topic or situation) take decision-making with them just because they are functionally above everyone else in the process. That means that top-down, directive leadership style takes more and more dominance over the collaborative one that company promotes to everyone (internally and externally). Company is still small (approx. 250 people), but corporate atmosphere is all around the place as many exec leaders that came recently are changing the landscape dramatically. CEO is involving himself too much into things he doesn't understand completely and is causing havoc operationally by his impulsive nature and shift of direction and priorities. CEO is having episodes of "madness" every few years when he starts rotating leadership in and out of the company (sometimes whole verticalls) on some suspicious grounds, making me suspect that he has a vanity issue and simply doesn't want to move away from things, impacting the continuity of the business, culture health and directly preventing the business grow. As a consequence, comany is literally one churned project away from a operational and financial disaster! The pressure is enormous internally, especially at the leadership level. Priorities are often changed suddenly and there is a complete lack of transparency over the company priorities and future direction. This is direct responsibility of the CEO and his leadership style and his influence on his direct reports. Layoffs are happening now as the company is in financial crisis and one never knows if he/she will be at the company tomorrow or not. Everything above pushes people into burnout and nobody is feeling safe there anymore. There is a constant conflict on priorities, especially amongst the leaders and consequentially they are thorn apart between the company and people they manage (lose-lose situation for everyone).
