Pluspunten

Good people on the ground who try to do their best for their clients.

Minpunten

It is sad to see what a good company could become. The global teams have been discontented for quite some time but the constant lip service from Management to sell more to customers to increase revenue (who don't really need more that the basic service they signed up for); the increasing demands from Management to do more work (after making scores of people redundant); and the constant acquisitions of companies (good luck Galvanize, Steele!) without a cohesive strategy to create a unified platform to offer its clients have led many to leave the business. DIligent has also made many people redundant across its key service locations only to place new and untrained staff in Galway. The staff are so inexperienced that customers are constantly complaining to their poor customer success managers who do not shoulder the responsibility of of supporting their clients anymore and who are also saddled with learning an increasingly list of poorly developed and poorly supported products. The exodus is across many business units regardless of seniority. There was a time when Diligent could be recommended to others. Not anymore.

We appreciate your honest feedback. While this was a tough review to hear, it is important to understand the feedback. With this in mind, we recently embarked on a strategic transformation to align our organization to the evolving needs and challenges of our customers. As part of that, we established new international offices in geographies more closely aligned to our client base. We’ve been intensely focused on our onboarding and training programs for new hires, as well as our teams globally across Commercial, Product, and Customer Support. More recently, as you alluded to, we made two strategic acquisitions – Galvanize and Steele – that position us to achieve our vision to build a unified GRC platform, which is something we’re confident our clients will find most valuable. We recognize that there has been a lot of change and news to digest recently at Diligent. But we are confident these steps are the right ones for us to grow sustainably in the long-term – for the benefit of our clients and our team. And as always, wherever there have been near-term impacts to team members, we have strived to be as supportive as possible. I also want to acknowledge you feel that no one is listening – I am truly sorry to hear that. Our team members’ questions, thoughts, and reactions are paramount to us, and I encourage you to reach out to any of the leadership team or to HR (confidentially if you wish via hrconfidential@diligent.com) with any further thoughts you want to share. Thank you again for your post. - Avigail Dadone, Chief People Officer

Pluspunten

The product is market-leading, and the space is genuinely interesting. There's no shortage of smart, capable people at Diligent. A lot of talented managers exist within the org who could do more if given the room.

Minpunten

Direction changes constantly — sometimes it feels quarter over quarter. The result is widespread burnout and an inability to execute. Senior leaders rarely push back on the CEO, which means teams absorb every strategic shift without warning or context. HR leadership prioritizes serving the executive team over the broader employee population. The HR team is stretched thin and operates more like a compliance function than a culture or development partner. (Turnover within HR leadership has been notable.) Pay is below market. The equity program is opaque, poorly managed, and functions more as a retention mechanism than a genuine benefit (with no clear path to liquidity). There's a meaningful gap between what the company says it stands for—especially around employee experience—and what it actually delivers internally.

Thank you for taking the time to share such thoughtful feedback about your experience. We truly appreciate you recognizing the strengths of our product and the talent across our team, and we’re glad to hear the space feels interesting and compelling. We also recognize that as a company focused on governance, risk and compliance, that it’s critical to hold ourselves to the same high standards internally. Through our monthly pulse surveys, we listen to our team, learn and actively work to strengthen any areas of feedback from alignment to transparency, or accountability across our leadership teams. In fact, one of our OKRs is focused solely on ensuring we have an empowered and accountable team, which we rally around as an organization. We appreciate other sources of feedback like yours, as it is an important part of that effort. Our People team is committed to supporting an elevated employee experience and continuously improving how we listen, respond, and evolve. While we won’t always get everything right on the first try, we are highly focused on continuing to iterate and making meaningful progress to ensure our actions reflect our values. We encourage continued feedback and appreciate you sharing your perspective. If you’d like to provide any additional context, please feel free to reach out at: HRConfidential@diligent.com
