I've worked in a number of different places over the years. In that time, I've had some good experiences, some mediocre ones, and some bad ones. Distil is possibly one of the best working experiences I've had to date. Let's be honest for a second. Working for a startup isn't for everyone. There's no job for life at Distil, and a job for life was never promised. It's a different working environment than perhaps some people are used to, but therein lies the joy (and pain) of it. From my time at Distil (still ongoing!), these are what I've perceived to be some great pros: • Management that both care of their employees, and actively do what they can to encourage and skill up those in their care. This is demonstrated even to the point where, should a member of staff leave the business, the CEO has offered to ring around his own network of people to try and find possible opportunities for that person. This is something I have NEVER come across in my past. • Opportunities to increase your skill set. • Amazing flexibility in working hours - The work needs to be done. You do the work, take as much time as you need! • The usual startup perks of snacks, paid-for lunches, a twice-yearly get together somewhere in the states - all expenses paid! • T-shirts in abundance • Initiatives such as 'Women in Tech'. • VERY attractive salary • Comfortable surroundings, including working pods, ping pong, standing desks, and more. • Management that actually give a crap about people in their care, demonstrated by weekly, bi-weekly 1:1s. Open door policy to discuss anything that might be on your mind. • Equity in the business From my perspective, this doesn't even scratch the surface!

I honestly can't think of a con at Distil, compared to some of the places I've worked in the past. I've had nothing but a great experience at Distil, and it's still containing to be so. I've been encouraged in my role, looked after should I have any concerns...the open door policy and ability to approach my manager about ANYTHING has been a great part of my role.
