We currently have 106 individuals on payroll and another 15 contractors. Of these, 3 identify themselves as "white". Our four non-Indian team members have all given up opportunities to earn double or triple what they do at Driptech, because they believe in our mission. A year ago, our senior management team (at that time comprised of 4 Americans and 3 Indians) took a temporary paycut during a lean season. We have not asked anyone else on the team to do so at any time. ----------
In terms of work-life balance, we all work hard. I am regularly one of the last people leaving the office in the evening, and regularly work over weekends. As do many of my teammates. We believe in our mission and are working hard to make the world a better place.-------------------------------------------------------------------------
We are happy to provide a copy of our travel policy to anyone considering joining Driptech. All senior team members, including the CEO, Directors, Heads of Depts, Regional Sales Managers, and Senior Managers are in the same travel band, which currently includes 4 Americans and 6 Indians. We regularly review our travel policy to balance cost vs productivity and vs other companies in the agriculture industry. Suggested improvements are welcome. --------------------------------------------
In terms of transparency, we meet once a month with all managers in our India office - 2 Americans and 11 Indians - to review our full financial results, the same presentation we send to our Board. We also have a monthly company-wide meeting for all staff in Pune to discuss operational updates. ----------------------
With respect to bonuses, everyone has variable compensation in addition to their fixed compensation, which is assessed and paid based on performance at least semiannually. It is not linked to Diwali or any other holiday. -----------------------
With respect to holidays, our head of HR puts together a list of holidays that he believes the team would value the most. We offer 12 paid holidays per year. This does not include the full set of Muslim, Hindu, Christian or other religious or cultural holidays. There are too many of them for that to be possible. Our office was closed for Id-E-Milad in January this year.-----------------------------------------
Both our Indian and American team members frequently take additional leave at Christmas. Any additional days off come out of the individual's leave balance. All team members have the same number of leave days.---------------------------------
