Initially I was drawn by the culture and the great trainers. Our training class was strong and dedicated to learning and making an impact on the company. The trainers encouraged this behavior and kept us excited.
Minpunten
4 week of training behind us we were demanded to attend a zoom town hall meeting where 2 company execs awkwardly appeared on a zoom call and told us the company was pivoting and we were all laid off. 42 in our training class, our brilliant instructors and the January class as well. Immediately after the zoom call all communication was cut off leaving us all numb and stunned with no one to talk to about what just happened. NOT a good look. Meanwhile, they are still advertising for new people. Do your homework. Ask good questions. Ask hard questions. Start ups can be a great opportunity as long as they are led by great executives with the correct vision. Beware the egos.
