Pluspunten
I achieved a level 3 in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering thanks to my resilience and determination. I built my professional attitude up in a very discriminatory working environment. I was determined to not make the people on site in my daily environment affect the person I want to become. I was provided full uniform and PPE to be safe at all times. Training was paid for so I could learn to use a machine that was required for my certification.
Minpunten
I had a deeply challenging experience at this company. From my first day, I felt labeled and targeted. There were continual attempts to provoke negative reactions from me, culminating in me being labeled negatively. I was subjected to sexual harassment, and when I reported this to management, I was questioned about my role in the incidents, which was incredibly disheartening. During tier meetings, I felt uncomfortable as inappropriate comments were made, often encouraged by the supervisor. As the only woman in these meetings, this behavior was isolating and demoralizing. Daily, I faced demeaning behaviour, especially from a specific individual who not only sexually harassed me but also bullied and demeaned me for mistakes, making my work environment unbearable. Despite reporting these issues, the individual remains employed there. Additionally, when I took sick leave, rumours about me circulated, fuelled by management, which felt like an invasion of my privacy. As they had visited my home area. And spoke about this at work. There was also an incident where I was physically pushed by a coworker when I defended myself verbally. I was forced to work in close proximity to the individual who harassed me, which made me extremely uncomfortable. Despite reporting this, management did nothing to address my concerns or support my mental health. The focus seemed to be solely on meeting work goals at the expense of employee well-being.
