Pluspunten
Super engaging place to work - from being at the forefront of the clean energy movement in CA, to dealing with climate change challenges (like wildfires), Edison is innovative, so it's a great place to learn, contribute and make an impact. If you're looking for a job that gives you a strong sense of purpose, with lots of opportunity to grow and great compensation, this is it! Talented co-workers are all great and easy to work with. It's a very collaborative environment. They offer mentoring programs and leadership learning/training programs as well.
Minpunten
There are some challenges in the way the company is organized and in the way things get done. It's a regulated utility, so things have to go through a process and it's sometimes frustrating and feels inefficient. Coming from a publicly traded company, I'm used to being able to implement changes more nimbly. However, the work is fascinating and in no way boring, so it doesn't feel like a drag, just a process. Work hours are not predictable or always convenient. I feel like I am in meetings all day long, as I am working from home (and sometimes meetings are held after hours as well), then in the evenings I often have to work on tasks that I wasn't able to complete during the day due to all the meetings. The main office is in Rosemead. The campus is nice but it's not conveniently located. Also, it's a cubicle intensive environment, which has it's challenges. We have worked remotely during Covid, but the company is pushing towards bringing employees back 2 days per week, so this may not be the place to find a "FT remote work" position (if that's what you're looking for). That said, they seem to be somewhat flexible with work hours. Also, while compensation is great, medical benefits are super expensive (almost double what they used to cost me at my last company for equivalent coverage).
