Deans are doing exactly what the former Chancellor wants them to do, and without question. People are running around scared for their job. The "Yes Man" syndrome is live and well among "leadership who teach leadership in the classroom." How can a university even publish the word leadership in their catalog. It is a HUG Dictatorship. The Deans are all "Yes Men" who would not qualify for a better job. One Dean was smart enough to draw the line and resign. When cuts are made in faculty, it's the Dean's friends who are allowed to stay around. The New Hires, his less experienced friends, are allowed to keep their job over much more senior and much more experienced faculty members. The protected brotherhood is a live and well. Seniority means nothing, experience and dedication among faculty mean nothing. Retired Military Officers with rank are allowed to stay. Business Faculty are providing 3rd party documentation to each other for course clearances. "You write me a letter, and I write you a letter". There is a clan of about 8 who are doing this. Letters don't show real work experience, only that they have taught courses at other universities such as Capella. Experience teaching a class is not a guarantee of a course clearance at Riddle. But it sure seems to be. This is all over the College of Business course clearance forms. Real world experience documented through a 3rd party is REQUIRED. Wait until SACS see these! The speech that the weak Chancellor made at the Worldwide Conference just says it all "if you don't like working here, don't complain, you can leave anytime you want." HE is the one who needs to leave, and leave the checkbook and charge card on your desk. Don't let the door hit you on the way out, pal. I'll call a taxi if you need one. He's old TX A&M pals with the President and he gets his way. We need the days of Marty back, when Morale was high and everyone spoke to him and he listened. NOTE the trend in ERAU on the chart, the job satisfaction is in a nose dive.
