Senior management and management team do a terrible job of properly staffing projects. Brand new employees cannot and should not be held accountable for the same amount of work as experienced ones, especially on their first project. This is not taken into consideration by the individual staffing projects. This results in exponential work volume for those who do have experience. Those with experience are expected to train the new staff, pick up the slack of the ones who are under performing, and carry on their own duties. This creates a terrible work life balance for the more experienced they are not properly compensated for the extra hours. In fact, the more experienced take the fall when this situation arises and are penalized when project bonuses are distributed. Best of luck if you choose to speak up when this does happen, all this will do is result in management and senior management targeting and bullying you and making your work life even worse. Only a select few on senior managers will actually step in, get their hands dirty, and help you with the hard work. Most of the time they just pawn off more (non experienced) resources for a short period of time and explain to senior management that you have plenty of resources so it’s an issue with you. The leadership team at this company should practice what they preach and honor the feedback of those doing the heavy lifting with the client, especially when they receive feedback on how management and senior management is treating their employees that actually do the work.
