Great to start getting IT experience

Favorites but nothing extreme. Still a great place to work.

The industry that EnvisionWare serves is an innovative one. Public libraries are creative in maintaining their value to their communities. Being able to support and enhance the services that libraries deliver was a lot of fun. The people on the front lines getting work done are (for the most part) genuinely nice people. There's a good deal of "chipping in" between teammates and even between departments. Privately held company ergo no shareholder interference.

Zero opportunity for advancement. If you're told that there is, someone is lying to you. Executive leadership is good at delegating tasks, but virtually refuses to delegate authority. As a result middle management is often stuck in their day to day roles waiting on authorization from "above" to move forward. During my time with the company I noticed a marked decline in the openness and honesty that were touted as the corporate culture when I joined. No annual/periodic performance reviews and little other feedback from management. There's no way to know where you stand job-performance-wise.
