As always with these things, some of the people were lovely - and what’s happening at Exertis is just such a shame for all those who worked hard there & poured so much of their time & energy into that organisation.

The reason why Exertis is in a heavy decline - and about to be stripped for parts - is solely down to the poor leadership at board level. The CEO and the board he built are the laughing stock of the industry - and if you speak to anyone in the channel about Exertis they say “what a shame” and “it was due to poor leadership.” The phrase “Go woke go broke” applies here. Sure.. they won some awards for D&I, and spent all of their efforts on a heavy PR angle trying to promise everyone that they’re inclusive as it comes (when something is so overdone, it becomes disingenuous). But there comes a point where D&I awards and “ERGs” do not pay the bills. Exertis are losing customers, partners and as a result staff from appalling decision making at board level. No amount of inclusivity events are going to stop this company from plummeting - and that’s partly down to the B2B “Managing Director” (a glorified title) whose only priority is themselves & to make sure they get enough industry exposure as possible as part of their own self-fulfilling gain. All the decisions at board level were bizarre. From hiring a CCO who couldn’t build any relationships, to appointing a Sales Director who has just left the cot, to promoting someone to Commercial Director who was responsible for huge partners withdrawing, to giving marketing to an unqualified HR Director, and appointing a CEO who is only still in this so he can get a pay cheques when the place sells - it’s awful, and the whole leadership team should be ashamed.
