Pluspunten
-There is plenty of overtime if that is what you are looking for. -They are willing to train you if you are new to the biotech field.
Minpunten
-Long work days are a given. Once you get singed off and given your own studies to run you are expected to carry them out all on your own with minimal help whether it be a study with 5 mice or a study with 200 mice. Study after study will be thrown at you until your work day exceeds the 8hr time frame and expect to come back for late timepoint if you are given a PK study to run. -Holidays do no exist at this place. Because of how many studies a since RA is given it is impossible to create a rotation system in which one RA can cover all studies to be able to have the holidays off. Expect to work every holiday like a normal 8hr+ work day. EXPECT TO BECOME BURNT OUT VERY QUCIKLY. -Salary is not very good unless you are a higher up doing mostly paperwork. -Because of how many studies a single RA has running at once getting help is very difficult and usually requires planning weeks in advance. With that said the higher, senior, RA's will through their studies into you Google calendar last minute, usually at the end of the day when you are getting ready to leave, and expect you to be fine with it. -Some IACUC protocols are not followed and HR did very little to fix these issues when they were brought to attention. -There is some dishonest activity happening such as HR and higher ups asking employees during meeting to leave positive reviews of Explora Biolabs on work sites regardless of the employee's actual view. Explora will sometimes even get honest negative reviews taken down in order to boost their ratings. -They will lie, at least they did to me, during the interview process in order for the employee to agree to the position. -Expect to have a very poor work-life balance.
