Pluspunten
Little pros. Perhaps being in DC?
Minpunten
The client work is mediocre—Everything is offered at a discounted rate just to land the work and then the design team has to cut corners in order to get the job done in an unreasonable about of time. "Don't spend too much time on that, because they aren't paying us a lot" is what you'll often hear. Management will often talk about the companies financial trouble and burden it's employees with it and then stress needing a full 8 hours of billable time. Staff is over worked, under paid and under appreciated. There is little to no recognition or rewards for a job well done. Reviews do not happen when they are due and compensation boosts do not happen even when they are deserved. It's not a creative environment. Employees are expected to shift from one deadline to the next with little down time to recharge batteries and no time to spend on looking for inspiration before starting a new project. The equipment the team is expected to work from is outdated and old. The company could not afford to upgrade to Adobe Creative Cloud so our capabilities were limited. They farm out a lot of work thinking it is more cost-efficient, rather than giving the team the tools to further their learning and the company's offerings. The actual work space is terrible as you are practically sitting in a garage with a piece of old dirty carpet to cover the floor. There is mold, flies, fruit-flies, and bugs all the time. The back entrance is between dumpsters in an alley. The bathroom located in the garage, has the only sink where the coffee pot is cleaned. There is no kitchen for employees and the water provided comes from a garden hose. Internal company operations need to be worked on.
