In fact, management doesn't inform anyone when someone is let go, so you usually only find out when someone's account is deactivated. The CEO appears out of their depth and lacks a clear vision for the company. This created an atmosphere of uncertainty and fear. While the work itself was engaging, the toxic culture ultimately outweighs any positives.
