Craft beer is a fun industry. Gambrinus takes the fun away. The sales director sends texts, e-mails, and phone calls all times of day and weekends. When asked to respect personal time, his response is that “we don’t work bankers’ hours.” Employees receive no training and are expected to grow an aging brand with little resources in a competitive industry that is also struggling to grow. Brands are national but focus on marketing campaigns based on Texas pride—this is polarizing at best.
