Pluspunten
The job itself is fantastic, getting to work with people and ensure the international safety of the skies is incredibly fulfilling. Full-time pay is good, the benefits are very good, and if you are able to land a lucky shift time then there's the potential for good quality of life.
Minpunten
Upper management is a nightmare; attempting to get any paperwork completed, approved, or appealed can take weeks or months. Also, as soon as they want something of you the expectation is that it is done immediately, or you are reprimanded. Furthermore, upper management is constantly encouraging new trainees to quit. Shifts are unfortunately short (4-5 hours) unless you've worked as a Pre-Board Screening Officer consistently for over 5 years. Then you can attempt to get full time, but it's not guaranteed. Although the pay is decent at full-time, it's not worth the financial hit to survive in today's economy on 4-5 hours of work for 5 years. Also the shift times are non-negotiables, which makes it harder to get a second job to make up the difference.
